0 SPAGHETTI KITCHEN

Diagonally opposite to the Forum Mall, nestled in the heart of Koramangala, this is one restaurant you just cant miss, especially at night. Above a restaurant called Punjabi Grill by Jiggs Kalra, which is another place to be for fans of North Indian food and good ambience, this restaurant has another branch in Indiranagar too. Bill Marchetti, the Italian Chef for Spaghetti kitchen, brings Italy’s enticing variety of distinctive flavours into its repertoire of dishes, with a focus on authenticity.

Well the restaurant has a lot of different sections you can comfortably seat yourself at : The Lounge (that wasn't open yet due to license issues apparently), the Cafe (The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf) and two differently styled dining sections. All in all, a fabulous setup!

One point worth mentioning is their excellent service with a feel-good factor. When you leave the place, almost the entire staff bids you good bye. Moreover, the service is pretty prompt and definitely up-to-the mark. The creative dishes as well as their presentation are also quite commendable.

Let's have a look at the food we tried out.. Incredible variety on the menu.. Defined by its spacious settings and elegant décor, Spaghetti Kitchen is a unique destination that offers authentic Italian flavour in a contemporary atmosphere.

Every table is served a complimentary bread basket comprising bread sticks, a couple of rolls and some focaccia with a dip.

Appetizers: Salads, Special breads, Anti pastos, soups

CARTA DA MUSICA/SARDINIAN 'MUSIC PAPER'

Thin pizza crisps layered with a spicy tomato oregano salsa and 'ricotta salata'. Something different from the usual. Worth a try..

CAPPUCCINO OF FOUR MUSHROOM SOUP

Well, this was quite a delightful surprise. Mushroom soup served like a cappuccino with a small mushroom toast to go along with it.

PARMESAN CREAM CHEESE BABY POTATOES

Oven roasted herb potatoes cooked with parmesan, cream and fresh herbs. It is one of their recommended dishes. Pretty good if not for d slight distaste with d potatoes (must have been the garlic or something :/)

Main course: Pizzas, Risottos, Steaks, Fillets, Cannelonni, Pastas- fettucinis, fusilis, penne, spaghetti and a lot more.

GARLIC MILANO PRAWNS

Arabian Sea Prawns sauteed and highlighted with roasted garlic, chili flakes, sage and fresh basil. Presentation is pretty neat and the food delicious too! :)

POLLO CON PEPPERONATA

Breast of chicken stuffed with fontina and tellegio cheeses and salsa verde, wrapped with sliced Parma ham on yellow and red pepperonata sauce. An absolutely heavenly dish :)

The Bar offers a wide selection of world wines to complement the cuisine. And, of course, delicious DESSERTS like Cassata, ‘Tiramisu’ and ‘Chocolate Bomb’ make for the perfect sweet ending.

PHILADELPHIA CHEESECAKE

Found this one too dry for my taste. Could definitely do with a change of the base crust, I must say :/

OREO CHEESECAKE

Although not as great as the one in Spiga, this one is still worth a try.
Guess I should have just tried out the other desserts mentioned in the menu! :/

2 T.G.I.Friday (TGIF)

As I stepped into the new TGIF in Bangalore (after the old one at Carlton Towers had burnt down), I had a hunch this place would be so much better than the old one. And boy, was I right! A very different setup with seating as well as a hint of a dance floor on the top, with a live band performing over the weekends. Unfortunately, haven't had the chance to watch them play yet.

For starters, the ambiance is amazing. Very well thought-of. Wonderful wall hangings that send you down memory lane.

The F1 race at Buddha Circuit going on..

MENU: Appetizers, Main course, Beverages, Desserts and more.

We turned out to be in time for the Halloween celebrations.

Appetizers: Shrimp Cocktail, Loaded Potato Skins with bacon, Fried Mozzarella, Spicy Chicken Nachos, Parmesan Crusted Chicken Quesadillas,Spicy Chicken Wings, Chicken fingers and the like.

FRIDAY'S THREE-FOR-ALL:

This big-enough-to-share platter features a trio of their most famous appetizers: Loaded Potato Skins with bacon, Fried Mozzarella, and Spicy Chicken Wings, complete with sour cream and green onions, marinara sauce, and celery sticks with Bleu Cheese Dressing.

CITRUS MARINATED CHICKEN AND TENDERLOIN SKEWERS:

Chicken and lamb skewers served with a tangy dip. I would rate it a 3 on 5.

SPICY CHICKEN WINGS:
Traditional upstate New York-style chicken wings marinated in our own spicy sauce, then deep-fried. Served with crispy celery sticks and tangy Bleu cheese dressing with Original Frank's Red Hot Sauce. For those who love spice with a tangy taste! Tobasco lovers, listen up! :)

Main Courses: You can choose from among Spicy Jack Glazed Ribs, Pork Back Ribs, Pastas, Steaks, Burgers, Seafood, Pizzas and so on..

SIRLOIN STEAK:

A generous 12-oz. cut, expertly seasoned, and fire-grilled. Served with Onion rings. Another reason to make everyday a Friday! 4  on 5.

I remember distinctly that the last time I'd been here, me and my pal were too caught up in a game to even notice that our steak had turned cold and a very friendly server offered to reheat it as the steak continued to go unnoticed by us. I found the gesture very sweet indeed and furthermore, he said it would be reheated as many times as we wanted! :) It was then that I just knew this place was definitely worth heading to again!

FRIDAY’S® SHRIMP:

A dozen, tail-on, battered and butterflied shrimp, deep-fried until they’re golden brown and crispy. Then we serve them on top of crispy fries with seasonal vegetables and tangy cocktail or tartar sauce. If you love your prawns soft inside the batter within, this is for you!

PEPPERONI CHEESE PIZZA:

Italian thin crust pizza with extra imported pepperoni toppings. 5 on 5!
Right out of the oven, you can smell the freshness! Totally delicious down to the last bite, I can gladly proclaim this to be the first time in India I had tasted the pepperonis that are my absolute fav back in Saudi! They made my day! :)

Drinks: Martinis, Mojitos, Daiquiris, Tequila based cocktails, shots, Fuzzy Jack and Coke, Mocktails and another ULTIMATE series that gives you more quality and more size.(Check pics below)

BLOODY MARY:

Smirnoff blended with their own special Bloody Mary mix and served with a stalk of celery. Bloody Mary lovers will truly relish this!

BONE CRUSHER:

Havana Club Rum, gin & Triple Sec with sweet and sour mix topped with Cranberry Juice and sparkling wine. Lives up to its name.. ;) Delicious indeed! :)

ULTIMATE HAWAIIAN VOLCANO:

Tropical juices + Southern Comfort + amaretto + Smirnoff = an eruption of fun! Boy, was this huge, not to mention heavy. 5 on 5! Totally dig it! :)

Desserts: Classic Chocolate Malt Cake, Brownie Obsession, Chocolate Oreo® Mint Crunch, Snickers Treat

MOCHA MUD PIE:

Rich, chocolate-almond mousse and coffee ice cream frozen in a chocolate crumb crust. Topped with hot fudge and toasted almond slices.

Each bite was a heavenly delight indeed! *Bliss*
