FROTH ON TOP

Nestled in a pretty busy street, an ancient styled home converted to a pub, called FROTH ON TOP is where I decided my next stop in Mangalore would be, and boy, am I glad to have been there. This is apparently owned by the same management that runs LIQUID LOUNGE, another famous hangout in Mangalore. Its got an indoor and outdoor section. Let's enter through the doorway right here and see what's past it..

And after you enter, you have a desserts and pastries counter! :) Go right past that corridor and you have the indoors AC section.. Here's the view from IN:

The menu is quite broad, comprising of a wide variety of food, though the drinks are limited to beer (Fosters,Kingfisher, Tuborg, Budweiser, Carlsberg - Pitcher and Pint), wine (red and white) and mocktails. No other alcohol served here. Oh yeah, there's Breezer too ;)

Few categories of food are: Starters, Salads, Soups, Burgers, Grilled Sandwiches, Rice, Pastas. As for the cuisine, there's Continental, Mangalorean Special: Dosa with chicken curry-Apam with stew and Kori Roti, Chinese and Thai. Besides, they have a Breakfast Menu too : Pancakes, Bullseye, Poached/Scrambled Eggs ,French toast, Porridge, Spanish/Cheese Omelette, American Breakfasts. And last but not the least, Desserts! Unfortunately, coz I was supposed to be dieting and felt I'd eaten a lot already, no desserts were ordered :/

Getting down to business, here are some pics of the AMAZING food I had..

BEER:

RED WINE: (pretty strong)

CHICKEN LOLLIPOP: Good stuff, great appetizer. I almost always order it at a Chinese Restaurant. Though comparatively, this one did have scope for improvement.

PORK PEPPER FRY: Sure was peppery ;)

KEEMA RICE: You get chicken and mutton choices for the Kheema! Well, this dish is just amazing! SO many people I know just go here for this every time they are here. This is definitely a must-try! I had mutton Kheema Rice here.. The chicken Kheema Rice is just as good! :)

Amidst the rice is where the kheema is well hidden:

CHICKEN STUFFED WITH SEAFOOD: This was an absolute delight too! :) Seafood like prawns and fish stuffed into a Chicken steak! and the cream and onion sauce over it was just the right finish to this perfect dish! What's more, it comes wit a good helping of mashed potato with a yummy ghee touch to it! It goes perfectly well with the Kheema Rice too :P And for the veggie lovers, this dish comes with a cauliflower, beans and a carrot! ;)

Definitely among my list of places to visit again, to try out more of their incredible food and next time, will try out the desserts too! :)
